The Gist

The Barrel: Drift House is made by Nomad Saunas, hand-built in Minnesota, it is a 10’ barrel sauna that can fit 10 people comfortably. It is constructed with 1.5” thick Western Cedar optimizing heat retention and aroma.

The Heat: This sauna is warmed by a gas heater, it’s very easy to operate and does not require any electricity. It heats up quick and can be set to whatever temperature is comfortable for you.

The Trailer: Originally designed for ice fishing, This is a drop down trailer which can be lowered in multiple different directions accommodating uneven ground.

First and foremost, listen to your body. For the best experience, aim for a temperature between 170–195°F (75–90°C) inside the sauna and follow a simple heat–cold–rest rhythm.

Start with 10–15 minutes in the sauna, letting your body warm gradually. Step out for a cold rinse or cool-down, then take 5–10 minutes to rest and rehydrate. Repeat this cycle 2–3 times, adjusting each round to what feels good for you.

This balance of heat, cold, and recovery enhances circulation, boosts relaxation, and leaves you feeling grounded and refreshed.

A towel, a bottle of water, sandals, and bathing attire which is required. Towels must always be sat on when using the saunas.

Each rental includes: Delivery, setup and orientation on-site, Gas for the duration of the rental, Bucket & ladle for steam, Basic cleaning and teardown included in pickup.

We serve the central coast region (including San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Cayucos, and other nearby cities). Standard delivery is included within a certain radius (e.g., 25 miles from our base in Morro Bay). Additional travel beyond that may incur a delivery fee (based on miles or time).

You’ll just need to ensure: A flat, level pad or driveway space with adequate clearance (8’x 17’) and access for a truck/trailer.

We do not allow food or drink (other than water) into the sauna.

For your safety, all guests will complete a liability waiver and we’ll provide a short onsite orientation covering safe use, stove operation, time/temperature guidelines, and emergency procedures.

Absolutely, you can request add-ons such as:

- Cold plunge tub(s)

- Private host/facilitator

- Extended hours or overnight stay

Pricing for add-ons will be listed on booking or upon request.

We understand that plans change. Drift House is a small, handcrafted operation, and each booking is reserved exclusively for you. Our cancellation policy helps ensure fairness to both our guests and our schedule.

• 7+ days before rental: Full refund of your deposit or payment.

• 3–6 days before rental: 50% refund of the total booking amount.

• Within 72 hours of rental: No refund — the full amount will be charged.

Note: Rescheduling within the same timeframe is subject to availability and is treated the same as a cancellation.

Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days of cancellation confirmation.

If we arrive on site and are unable to deliver or set up due to blocked access, unsafe terrain, or absence of a contact person, the booking will be treated as a no-show and is non-refundable.

We operate rain or shine, but we reserve the right to postpone or reschedule your booking if conditions are unsafe for towing or operating the sauna, including high winds, heavy storms, wildfire smoke, or road closures. If Drift House initiates a cancellation due to weather or mechanical issues, you’ll receive a full refund or credit toward a future booking.
